Match Report

Saturday Home with a very strong batting line up, the day got off to a bad start when the alarm went off the skipper must not have pressed the buttons hard enough. He then won the toss and made the decission to insert the opposition as it looked like there might be some assistance in the pitch early on. This was proved not to be the case when Hucknall had gone on to 60 for 0 off 8. We were able to restrict them to 182 all out in the 45th over to give us maximum bowling points. A great recovery, mainly due to some excellent bowling from Sikander Hayat 4 for 24 off 12 overs and David Hedge with 3 - 14 off 4.4 overs. However the wayward bowling had cost us 57 runs in extras the top scorer for Hucknall being 29. The very strong batting line up was to take on the challenge of chasing down the total in a confident mood. This was to change rapidly as we amassed 108 all out in 28.4 overs despite a great innings from Mr Hedge who scored 74 and was the last man out.. The other 10 batsmen contributed 12 runs including 5 zero's although Phil Z was looking as if he would score that, had Dave not got himself out in frustration going for a fourth boundary in the over. A simple summation is that we need to bat the overs  to give ourselves a chance of winning. The selection of a captain calamity is very difficult as there were 9 candidates. So it has to be the captain himself.
