We lost the toss and were inserted by the opposition (good man) we started with a slightly rearranged batting order D Hedge and Sikander opened - Hedgey was soon out caught by a very athletic catch at gully. Then Polkey was bowled for 0 and trouble looked to be on the horizon until young Fish strode to the wicket and played with a lot of style to take the score to 112 before Sikander fell lbw to a low shooter for 58. This brought Mr Coles to the crease who with Jake progressed the score rapidly. There were two contrasting styles elgeant strokemanship from Jake and clubbing from neanderthall coles. Jake was eventually out for 63 with the score on180 in the 36th over. This brought captain Foulkes to the crease and the two eggheads took the score to 228 before captain had to return to the pavillion in the 41st over. Clubber Coles eventually fell in the last over for 83 in order to get a batting average. Leaving Rob Turner and Kyle not out 11 and 2 not out and a total of 268 to defend.
Then to bowling and Phil Z and Polkey opened up and quickly had the opposition 4 wickets down before the captain intervened and replaced then both. this brought Rob Turner and Ian Wilkinson to the attack. Clubber Coles became coach Coles and manged to get Ian bowling off 25 yards, whilst Rob decided to give the batsment a chance by getting them out off no balls.Bowling changes again saw Kyle and Sheher bowling and Kyle could have had a wicket had Polkey managed to hang onto a screamer. Sheher learned to get wickets you had to hit the stumps this may have been influenced by watching Rob attempt to catch the ball with the back of his hands or just his arms. Sheher took a quick 3 wickets before Umpire hedge finished off the game with two wickets including a great catch from Kyle (who received no coaching from Colesy or Rob) to leave Lambley 138 all out.
So maximum points - and everyone did a bit - Congratulations to Jake on his first senior 50 - plenty more to come there
