Match Report

With Fisko on a roll from last weeks close win, we went to Thrumpton who were beaten last week in a confident but cautious mood knowing that a win would help ease the pressures of relegation.

In a new line up, Fisko won the toss and elected to bowl on a green track that in the end played better than it looked. Dan Collo and Andy Beecroft opened up, which saw Dan struggle with his line a little going for 28 runs from his spell of 6 overs. Beeky bowled through and picked up 2 wickets in an economical spell of 12 overs for 32. On came Luca Tricarico and bowled out of his skin, again with 12 overs straight through picking up 2 for 28. Hedge and Collo Snr picking up 2 and 1 wicket respectfully, Thrumpton finished on 167 for 9.

Fisko went into bat with Todd and Fish Jnr and Toddy set about the opening bowler from the start taking 12 off the first over. He then got a decent ball that bowled him for 21. Jake was continuing to hold one end up, which he has done all season and saw Hedge (0), Mike Rees (5) and Carr (10) fall which brought in Gareth Rees who partnered Jake well. Jake eventually falling for great knock 36. Dan Collo then joined Gareth and with two big hitters at the crease, the game was going to change. Dan hittting important boundaries, including one that sailed ober the pavilion and saw everyone scamper to see which car was hit in the car park, we realised that it cleared all of them and ended up by the side of the road, 30 yards clear of all of them. He finished on 22 not out and Gareth hitting a fine 6 which won the game and brought him to 50 not out. A great way to win with a great team behind me. Well bowled, well batted and well fielded. All catched held. Great performance - WELL DONE LADS !!
