Match Report   Well another close fought game which fiskerton has ended up on the losing side of.

To start with i lost the toss and we got put into bat, exactly what i didn't want to do but, i've always been told i'm a useless to**er. Paul todd and Rob bailey opened up the batting, toddy being aggressive from the start, dealing only in boundaries initially to get to his tally of 17 before being bowled off a ball that could only be described as lucky, half tracker that didn't lift at all, and hit off peg half way up. Rob bailey soon followed being bowled by what looked to be a good delivery for 5. Two new batsmen at the crease in Max danby and Dave newbie, max looking strong with 3 well hit fours until he was caught trying to pull one which stopped in the pitch for 15. Dan collington comes to the crease at a crucial time to try and steady the ship, although dan had other plans and got bowled for 1 playing an over agressive shot to a straight one. Next comes in andy laughton with strict orders of 'just stay there'. The main partnership between newbie and laughton progessed from 80 odd to 160 odd with newbie hitting 8 fours and 1 six to earn his tally of 49 before being overcome by a good delivery, knocking back the off stump. Glenn formoy now comes to the crease with andy laughton to keep the score ticking over as we were approaching 200 and aiming for 230 ideally. Formoy hits a good four down to fine leg but departs an over or two later trying to hit over cow. Andy laughton is the next to fall after also hitting 8 fours and 1 six, bowled trying to keep the score ticking over, gone for 65. Andy polkey and Phil z then push the score along right at the end to get us to a slightly short but respectable 202 for 7

203 to win for radcliffe as we head to the field. Ali hall opens up from the top end with Andy laughton from the bottom end. Both ali and andy bowled really well getting plenty of edges and keeping the score at about 3 an over for the first 16 overs, andy laughton picking up the first 2 wickets, bowled and caught behind. Andy polkey and Paul todd now take over the bowling for the next 16 over stint, both bowlers keeping the score down with accurate bowling, toddys idea of a 6/3 legside field bowling at leg stump paying off, annoying the batsmen immensly, picking up 2 well deserved wickets. Andy polkey continued through all his 8 overs picking up 2 wickets with tight lines and good discipline.

At this stage everything is looking great, jake fish has departed for 50, two new batsmen at the crease (one being mark fish), 80 odd required off the last 8, happy days. Mark fish had other ideas though, he hit 6 six's and 2 fours in the space of these 8 overs off phil z and dan collington, who collectiveley got hit for 54 off 4 overs. Max danby bowled very well at the death, a combination of me having a short attention span and this scorebook being copied up by an 8 year old who clearly couldnt write, meaning i can't tell whether max got a wicket or not but thats by the by, well bowled max.

Summarize: Not quite enough runs lads. The fish's had a good day with the bat, it happens. We fell asleep right at the end, the last 5 overs, nothing was in our control, little lack of concentration. Other than that, well played lads - hedgey back next week to take back captaincy.

Man of the match: Andy Laughton (65 and 2-21 off 8)

Captain Calamity: Dan Collington (1 run when we needed his ability, and being hit for 31 off 2 overs.)

p.s sorry for the essay ...
