Having lost the toss and inserted by the oppo, my suspicions were arroused, as the wicket I thought looked to be a good batting track, how wrong could I be!!!
Paul Todd was bowled first ball of the match to a half tracker that got just above his ankles! Robbo followed 5 balls later with a flash to point, both openers out for a Golden Ducks. The batting improved slightly thanks to Rob Bailey & Rob Turner, but by no means anywhere near what we would've wanted. 123 all out off 32 overs. 5 ducks in total and only 3 batsmen making double figures.
Things needed to be sharp in the field if we were to stand the remotest of chances. A decent spell from Davey & Polkey started the Notts & Arnold innnings off slowly, however the opposition gathered momentum and were unstoppable. A dropped catch in the deep by Paul Todd was not too costly as Polkey took a great caught & bowled a few balls later. But Notts & Arnold romped home for the loss of just 3 wickets in the 27th over.
Man of the Match: Dave Foulkes, an excellent club man who did not put a foot wrong all day.
Captain Calamity: This goes to 8 individuals we know who we are. But the leader of the pack today was Paul Todd.
