Match Report

This game was the complete opposite to last weeks game. We batted poorly and fielded 100% better. It was played at Fiskerton as Wellow's ground was unavailable and with the toss won, we decided to have a bat.

Robbo earned his captain calamity within minutes of turning up. He admitted to playing 'all round' the first ball of the innings as it removed the bails and bowled him first ball. Unfortunately i have to report that Neil Davey was the "star" with the bat scoring 19. The next best score was Akers on 6, with Turner making 5 and Barker, Zdanowski and Wilkinson all making 4. Extras was second top score with 8. A poor effort. I also must not forget the other first ball duck with Ali Hall making the most of the splice of his bat knocking his first ball straight to Mid Wicket. Fiskerton making 61.

After a team talk from Akers that wouldnt have gone amiss in an episode of the Chuckle Brothers we made a real fist of the match. Ali Hall making up for his first ball Duck taking an amazing 5 for 5 runs off his 3 overs. At the other end Neil Davey took 2 for 22 off his 3. With Wellow 50 for 7 Fiskerton just couldnt find the next breakthrough. However if Robbo's Captain Calamity wasnt already sealed, he managed it in the 8th over. Standing at Gully and with the ball coming straight to him, he decided give Wellow every chance of winning the game by turning 1 into 4. Thanks for coming. It was a much improved performance from last Wednesday in the fielding department, but its very much a 'Must try Harder' with the bat.
