1st game of the season, and we got off to a disappointing start.
Let's not dwell on the result, let's just learn from it. (I know I have already)
In conclusion the opposition were given too many chances to score easy runs, we did not hold out catches and in summary we were out-played in every aspect of the game by Ellerslie. I personally feel I bowled the seamers too much and did not take advantage of a turning wicket by maximising our spin options.
However, Ellerslie scoring 289 on a wicket that had already produced 600 runs the weekend prior meant that we were not out of the game chasing this score down, but we did need one of the top 4 or 5 batsmen to come off and unfortunatley this did not happen.
With the highest score of the day for Fiskerton with the bat being 26, we were not competing.
Lets look on to next week, with a better attitude and learn from our mistakes. Hickling at home, which should be a good game.
Capt Calamity - Has to go to Neil Daisy, dropping the opener on 6, who went on to score 151*. (Sorry fella)
Man of the Match - Paul Todd with the highest score with the bat, and the best bowling figs by far. (Should've bowled more overs Paul, a mistake I have learnt from)
