Match Report

A great win today lads, as usual i strolled out to the middle thinking lightning cant strike 7 times on the bounce but it did and i lost the toss AGAIN. We were fielding on a day where the sun was high and the track looked good. I bowled a very good opening spell in partnership with ali, i was getting the ball to swing and seam, but ali swore i was using a different ball from him. I picked up the first 4 wickets, 2 caught behind and 2 bowled. Ali picked up 1 in his 12 overs for 18, very economical. Daisy came on after me and managed to bowl a serious amount of deliveries in exactly the same place, bringing back figures of 11-3-16-1, Dan collington and toddy bowled well at the death to leave caythorpe with 137 on the board. With a combined total of 15 maidens it was a great effort all round.

Onto the batting.

Ben and PJ opened up with a small total to chase, both opening bowlers were of a reasonably good standard and troubled early on but ben stood tall. PJ departed for 4 after a vigilant innings of supporting ben, max soon followed nicking behind off a length ball for 3. Ben and I continued to keep the score ticking, me only just managing to keep it ticking. Ben departed for 46, moments after expressing that we must stay there and see the job off. Dan collington came to the crease and his season with the bat is continuing to no avail, playing a cut shot early on and guiding it straight to gully/point.

Toddy came to the crease and outclassed the bowlers quite easily, scoring 40 off 44 balls, sixes and fours everywhere, quite enjoyable to watch from the other end. The winning runs came with only 4 wickets lost and means more points in the bag and 3 wins on the bounce.

Man of the match is going to myself: My 5 wickets not the tiresom batting display.

Captain Calamity: Dan Collo: Better bowling but its that batting again.

Bring on next week.
