Match Report

Right ok, on possibly the windiest day i've ever known we took to the field after losing the toss ... and the coin.

Me and phil Z opened up with both of us bowling relatively tight lines to keep them to a reasonable 40 odd off 10, First wicket fell with me running out there opening batsman without even appealing after getting a finger to a drive down the ground, not going to complain though.

Polkey and Hedgey bowled the next 16 overs,  both combining good line and length with a bit of help from the breeze, polkey picking up their other opener for 33 and hedgey picking up 2 good wickets. Jack surtees and Chris Spittlehouse took up the next bunch of overs, jack bowled very well and picked up a wicket in the process in his 5 over spell, leaving chris to utterly destroy their middle and lower order.

Chris picked up 5 wickets for 4 runs off 4.4 overs (man of the match performance) with 2 of them runs being wides (tut) leaving gedling with a total of 149.

We opened the batting with Hedgey and Bailey, Hedgey holed out for 3 early doors, I came in and lasted 2 overs max before picking ot cover with a cut. Neil davey came to the crease soon after and found himself run out, quite hysterically (capt calamity) for 1, leaving the scoreboard at 39 for 3. Eeek

Rob bailey continued to stand tall during the middle session, with good help from chris (17) and Polkey (29), bailey nearly managed to guide us home, holing out eventually to cover for 60.

Phil Z managed to delay the inevitable for around 4 overs of dot balls, in his name, but foulkey and kyle saw off the last onslaught for kyle to hit a four over midwicket to seal the victory.

Good game all round - win in the bag, points on the table, bring on next week.
