One word to describe this 'performance'.....Shocking.
After winning the toss it was a slow start with Drinkwater and Formoy scratching around early on a slow wicket with acurate stump to stump bowling. Formoy fell first, quickly followed by Danby, before Drinkwater fell for 15. With Hedge in he called for Hall to get some quick runs which didnt arrive. Hall, Milner, Akers, Zdanowski, Turner, Jones and Wilkinson all losing their wicket for a combined 11 runs. Hedge being the only "Highlight" as he managed to hold his wicket for 19 runs.
With Hedge asking for a bit of Fire in the field it got off to a promising start after Drinkwater bowled a decent line and length, however Zdanowski went for 11 off his first over, not recapturing his blistering form from Sunday. Hall bowled tidyly for his 3 overs but as Hedge explained after the game the opposition batsman werent put under enough pressure with balls being bowled outside the off stump and not wicket to wicket. When Akers put down a relatively difficult chance diving away to his right, we all knew it wasnt to be our day. With the scored almost level Hedge turned to Dan Jones on his senior debut to bowl and off his first ball sent a chance up and agonisingly out of reach of Hedge at gully.
Some real lessons to be learnt here lads, people need to net and get some time in the middle and stand up to be counted and not give away their wicket cheaply.
No MOTM or Capt Calamity awarded as there were no real candidates for the former and far too many for the later.
