In a day that started off badly by losing the toss and being made to field first, only got worse for the next few hours.
2nd ball of the innings saw the brand new ball go flying into the dyke, never to be seen again. A few overs later however Fisko were given a good opportunity to an early wicket when Wollatons Australian pro placed a ball to myself at cover, only to see myself drop what may be one of the most expensive drops you will ever see!!!
This batsman ended up on 254 not out!! (well worth Captain Calamity!) helping their side end up on a monster total of 413.
The positives to take from this fielding effort was both Ollie Stanley and James Pritchett with great bowling performances and James Stevenson looking very comfortable behind the stumps.
We decided to give the young juniors an opportunity, batting high up in the order and they did not disappoint. Stevenson and Stanley both playing some beautiful shots. Pritchett was unlucky to get a great ball first up.
We ended up getting 207 with myself getting 73 and Dave Hedge getting 51. Not a bad score on any other day!
MOM has gone to Ollie Stanley for a strong batting and bowling performance.
