Match Report   AWESOMMMMEEEEEEEEEEE! We just won the darn league!!! Well done boys, both for tonight and for the whole midweek season. An amazing effort by everyone who played in any of the games, with the only blemish being the loss to Bilsthorpe. Mind you, the last laugh is sweet, and it falls to us, as league champs, to stick our collective tongues out to our mate Spits, and go, BLLLLaargh!!! So to tonight's game.,.... After some deliberation, having won the toss, I decided to have a bowl, to see if we could restrict them to c60 runs, in the hope that our bowlers could do the job, and by 'eck, they did just that. JK & Paul bowled brilliantly, tight lines, at the stumps; perfect for evening cricket. JK picked up 3, Paul got 2, leaving them struggling to make any headway. Only their consistent opening bat, Matthews, looked like scoring any runs, and when 2nd change Jack Surtees stepped up to crease, bowling a full bunger, his wicket also fell, off stump pegged back for jack's second wicket. Class. That was that, as Wilko again took a handfu, finishing 3-10 off 2.5 overs. 44 all out. I thought about reversing the batting order, but only momentarily! I was going to open with Freddie, but after 12 overs of abuse, even for my Olympic dive to narrowly miss catching one(!), he got relegated to 3. It didn't matter much, as Newbs and Max started steadily, and ramped up the scoring over 4 overs to 26 before Max looked skyward and missed a straight one!. Freddie came out of his grump to walk to wicket claiming he was going to block everything, but after 3 balls even he had to nurdle a single. 2 overs later it was all over, a 6 to win it by Freddie, and hey, the league is ours. Marvellous!!! Well done lads!
