Match Report

Great turn round this week!

After viewing the pitch bowling was the only option as a good cut of sillage could of been taking off it! Luckily the toss was won and we took to the field.  Vast improvement on last weeks performance, fielding and  bowling a great opening wicket for spits getting the opener that scored an unbeaten century against us last week early doors.  This good start continued as we kept the runs down and picked up wickets on regular intervals.  Jim Kirkham taking 4 Polkey taking 2 and PZ with 2 towards the end.  Due to this improved fielding performance we restricted Forest Green to 214 for 9.

A positive feeling ran through the team as  we finished tea and headed out to bat.  A great start from Dave Newby and Kev Osbon leaving us on 37 before Kev was caught behind.  In walks Chris Spittlehouse yet to prove himself with the bat in a fisko side.  Well hes certainly done that after this weeks performance A great 75 at number 3 without a doubt put us in the a great position with a second wicket stand of 144 with Dave Newby who scored his first century for the club with a superb 102.  A steady nerve from Kev Wyatt and Andy Laughton lead us to our first victory of 2013!

Another great positive is the addition of two new players in Tom Massey and Kev Wyatt both a great game and a big welcome to you from the club.

Good things from this week lets continue it for the remainder of the year!

PS Spits sorry mate had to give it to newby even after our conversation on sunday night........i'm not putting that on the website lol
