Match Report

Well after 3 weeks off and with team having 3 wins on the bounce while i was away spirits were high for todays game.

After losing the toss we were put into the field.  With the overcast weather the ball was moving alot with Chris bowling a lovely line causing the batsmen some problems early doors.  After 2 early wickets from spits and polkey confidence was building.  The opposition dug in and scored a few runs for the 3 wicket stand before Max came on to dismiss no 3 LBW.  After this with some great bowling from all three spinners (max, hedgie and newby) and good fielding we managed to restrict the opposition to 170 all out with compared to the away fixture was a great effort.Spits 3 for 47, Danby 2 for 18 and Hedge 2 for 22.

As the first pair took to the crease and a strong batting line up we were confident of knocking 170 off.  But Pakistan cc's bowling attack was alot stronger than the previous fixture.  We were having to fight for every run we got which built up the pressure and soon wickets started to fall.  At 46 for 5 it was looking like a disaster of a day.  The only innings worth a mention was that of spits another good display from him getting another Fisko 50 scoring 52.  With that he was the only player to get double figures with extras being the second highest with 10!

All in all we fielded and bowled very well but at the end of the day lost out due to a very strong bowling attack from Pakistan cc.

With the next 3 fixtures at home we need to have a big push and get up to the top 3 spots in the league.
