Having lost the toss on a day whereby the weather was going to be a factor, we were inserted by Underwood (2nd in the league) as expected as they have Div D in their sights.
Mikey Hale fell early to a leg stump yorker, Laughts showed some resistance early on as did Drinkwater. But unfortunately the wickets fell fast and furious, going from 102 -2 to 149 all out!
12 man Underwood then took to the field, and I can only apologise to our players for being made to return and play cricket in the dark following an hour off the field for rain. Top of the league Farndon hosted 3rd in the division Hickling just the other side of the Trent (less than 3 miles away), common sense prevailed their and the safety of the players was considered and as a result they were called off.
Underwood reached their target with comfort, throwing the bat to the ball in order to try and claw back some points on their peers. They did so and came away with maximum points.
The players of Underwood, we wish you well next week, you deserve a shot in Div D.
