Match Report

Having lost the toss AGAIN!!!, Southwell elected to bat first. They got off to a reasonable start, 41 on the board before Jimmy Kirkham struck, a decent catch taken by George Butler in the covers.

Southwell then dug in, and made us look pretty ordinary for a while. However just after drinks everything changed and the whole team seemed to just wake up.

Wickets began to fall, and the momentum began to gather in our favour.

Then it happened, young George Butler on debut for the 1st XI takes the ball, bowling a full and nibbling line with his first ball, he picks up his first wicket in the 1st XI. FANTASTIC

But he didn't stop there, he wanted more and was rewarded, Bowled G Butler - Caught B Butler (the old father and son trick).

Southwell bowled out for 136, just what was needed.

A steady start with the bat, 57 before the loss of a wicket. Dan Jones then fell, having found the edge, however, Max looked strong 74* & Laughton put pay to any hope Southwell had with a wristy 24*.

Well done lads, momentum, momentum, momentum is what we have now.

MOTM - Without question, Mr George Butler. 2 great catches and an excellent spell of bowling 3.2 - 0 - 5 - 2

George then elected Capt Calamity to go to - Andy Laughton for just being there!!!
