The result we have been threatening to create, happened!
2nd in the league Lambley bowled out for 77.
Almost a flawless performance, only Jack Surtees managed to give Man of the Match Andy Laughton an easy decision in the end for calamity.
What can I say, the bowling was tight, enthusiastic and at times, at a quality way above the division we play in. Which only goes to show the potential of our young 1st XI. (Laughts, Kirks & Collo were outstanding. As for Danny Jones, what a magnificent amount of control, brilliant)
Batting wise, if you take my "quack" out of the stats, we looked good, and they never looked like they could defend such a low total. (Max dominating the opposition with 44*)
20 points gained & only 1 point conceded, meant we claimed joint 4th place.
With half the team away next week, this creates opportunities for the 2nd & 3rd change bowlers to impact on the game, and hopefully a performance or two from players coming up from 2's will create doubt the week after with regards picking the 1st XI.
Very very well done boys.
Winning. It feels good don't it?
