A weakened side proved crucial as Fiskerton were bowled out for 97 after a strong start was made by makeshift openers Kirkham and Spittlehouse. A 54 opening partnership put us in a strong position but this soon changed as the remainder of the team fell for a measly 43.
Bowling a team out with such a low total on the board was always going to be difficult but we gave it a good go, Colston Bassett 5 down when they eventually reached their target.
The general feeling in the changing room after the game was that another 30-40 runs would have won us the game as the last partnership at the crease for Colston Bassett were far from fluent and looked ripe for the taking.
A good performance given the calibre of the team that was put out to represent the 1st XI. Clumber Park next week where hopefully we will have a stronger side out and able to post/chase a higher total.
