Match Report

Win Win Win!!! Yes Lads!!

Earlier in the season we had a battering from Hucknull, time to step up lads.

Winning the toss to bowl on another perfect day, the outfield short and fast. A cracking start, Laughts bowls the opener second over, Hucknull make a slow start and loose their second opener to Aaman caught behind in the 12th.

Hucknulls middle order make good progress with 100 partnership to 140 off 32 to set up a high total. Max Danby keeping wicket and Aaman combine to remove three middle order batsman, two more caught behind and a stumping, nice work lads. Joe Cope also taking 3 wickets in his second spell. Between the wickets Hucknull run well and put the bad balls away to reach 247 for 7.

Third poor start for the batting in a row didn't fill us with confidence after Crowder is caught 3rd over Max Danby following shortly after for 1. However, newly promoted to opener Andy Laughton, who hasn't scored a 50 in 7 years at the crease with Khan soon steady the ship.

The boys dispatch loose bowling and happily take a lot of extras to take us to 104 for 2 off 16, now that’s more like it! After drinks the dispatching continues with another 80 from the next 16 overs without even a chance or drop. Solid Laughts and Khan both bring up 50s.

Looking in total control Khan slows up running and Laughts nearly laps him running a 3.

With Khan punishing the bowlers on the fast outfield he brings up his 100 in the 32nd, well batted Mani, the first century for the first this season!!

The perfect chase brought home buy the lads in the 39th, Laughts 74 not out, Khan 116 not out

241 for 2 off 39!!!!

20 points, big win, same again next week lads! Well done
