Another outstanding victory lads.
FTCC putting out the youngest first team in many years with Lewis Macrae getting his first 1st team call up.
Winning the toss we elected to field, which has served us well in previous games.
As always, a good start with the ball, Dan Collington bowling one opener and Andy Laughton had number 3 caught an over later. Wollerton put on a slow, but steady partnership to 121-3 looking set and ready to put on a big score.
Out of no-where Will Crowder pulls off a blinder, diving forward at gully, flicking the ball up, drops it at the second attempt and finally grabs it over his head on his back to remove their main threat. Good hands Will.
The bowling of Aaman and Mani restrict them well, until they let loose in the final 5 overs hitting 50 to reach 227.
After a top knock last week, Laughts opened this time with Max up from his usual number 3. A lightning start from the pair saw the fastest and highest opening partnership of the season, lovely shots and good running led us to 146 without loss.
True FTCC style followed losing Max caught, then Laughts bowled next over, Mani steadied the ship before Josh Perry and Will Crowder both bowled without troubling the scorers much. Collington had a nice boundary then caught on the boundary next ball really had the feeling of a total collapse with only 44 needed from the final 10 overs.
Luckily, experienced Newbs and Mani walked us home in singles, not without its drama, both lads dropped on the way to another good win with 2 overs to spare.
Well played everyone, everyone having a hand in the game including the non batters or bowlers who fielded extremley well,
Kirkby Portland away in a must win next week to be safe in DivB for another season.....
