Match Report

Yet again another beautiful afternoon. Two teams walk out onto the pitch to wage battle. Spirits are high. Fisko lose the toss which worked out better in the end as the second half of the day was hotter than the first. And so we take to the field. Good solid start by the openers, keep them pinned down for not many runs. Early wicket is taken due to suicidal running and good work by Mike Rees and Luca in the field. That should have been closely followed by wicked number two but Jim ‘I don’t drop many catches’ Kirkham put down a catch at second slip that couldn’t have been any more down his throat. Another good display by Steve Collington and Rich drinkwater keep the runs down. Another fantastic performance and long whatton are kept to a minimal score of 149.
An so to the second half of the game. Good strong start by Mikey Reece and Max Danby. Takes us to 70 odd after 15 overs without loss. Shortly after reaching his 50 Mike is out and in typical fiskerton style the boat got rocked with a middle order collapse.  This was helped along with expert batting tips off Long Whattons fielder at mid-wicket who played our bowling oh so well!  To cut a long story short after losing 8 wickets and taking another 20 or so overs luca hit the winning run and a great sense of relief was felt by all.  Overall a good performance by all excluding the batting hiccup another good win for the firsts lets keep it going lads!!!
