Match Report

With Fiskerton being put into bat the Willoughby bowlers looked in confident mood. Taking a few steady wickets including that of the opening pair of Mike Rees (24), Max Danby (1) and then Dave Hedge (11). Fisko looked on the ropes and 150 looked a good total. This looked more of a challenge as Sharpy (7) and Dan Collo(9) fell quickly. PJ (30) and Kev Rees (47) steadied the ship before both fell. With 7 wickets down Willoughby though they were into the tail and looking for a low total but in stepped the tail as Gareth Rees (36) and Collo Snr (16 not out) taking us through to maximum batting points. Something that would have been a big ask with 30 overs gone. Gareth finally fell to the second to last ball bringing in Luca to hit a big six, which he played and missed at. Thanks for turning up Luca, great tea though !!! Finished up 185 for 8

Bowling was started off with Kev (1 for 28) and Sharpy (1 for 30) who both bowled tightly. On comes Phil Z for his maiden first team appearance and showed why he was brought into the side by taking 2 for 26 off his 7 overs. He then dropped a sitter off Sharpy at point which got the glare from the skipper. He could have repaired the damage when one was drilled straight back to him by the batsman which he also dropped. The ones straight at you are always the hardest Phil. This has earned PZ this weeks captain Calamity. A superb display from Sharpy obviously softened up the batsmen to allow Collo Snr to take a match winning 4 for 11. Now for a double bowling change as Dan Collo for Phil and Luca for Collo Snr. Collo Jnr then took 2 for 11 wrapping up the innings meaning Luca didn't get to bowl a ball. Unlucky Luca. Finished up 114 all out. 20 points. A good team performance with a split decision for MOM between Collo and Kev, with the latter just pipping it.
